Postdoc Opening
The Robust Analytics Lab in the Kogod School of Business at the American University in Washington, D.C. is looking for an exceptional candidate to fill a postdoctoral fellow position. The initial term of this position is one year with the possibility for renewal, and will begin no later than Jan 2020. Our current on-going projects span multiple areas under the broader umbrella of data analytics, data privacy, and computational social science methods. Sponsored by multiple research grants from funding agencies such as NSF and DARPA, the Robust Analytics Lab brings together an interdisciplinary team to understand the reliability and robustness of data analytics, particularly in the context of its complex interplay with societal issues such as privacy, disparity, fairness, ethics, etc.
Our priority is to attract an exceptional researcher who is interested in asking new questions about analytical methods, such as our recent question on validity concerns in empirical research using new digital trace data. Passion in learning new research methods is essential; experience with quantitative social science methods is a strong plus. We welcome applicants from the fields of psychology, sociology, political science, economics, statistics, business, and computer science.
Applications should be submitted online.
